In this role, you will assume overall ownership in ensuring that all products leaving our facility deliver exceptional reliability and performance to our customers. You will contribute to all phases of the product life cycle – from concept through development and into sourcing and manufacture. Our rapid product development pace and custom product activities ensure that there are always exciting new projects to work on. Our products are used as standard equipment on top tier boats throughout the world.
To be considered, the candidate should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field and be able to demonstrate the following attributes, capabilities, and experience:
- Functional understanding of Quality/Reliability best practices, from design to supply chain, to manufacturing, to field return analysis.
- Creating, tracking, and interpreting appropriate companywide quality metrics, and use them to drive continuous improvement in design and other processes.
- Contributing to early-stage product development to ensure quality and reliability in the end product.
- Working with the Engineering team to develop a validation process for a given design and independently provide feedback as to whether the design is acceptable for release and deliverable as promised.
- A proven ability to read and properly interpret engineering drawings.
- Typical quality measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, angle finders, comparators, gage pins, etc.
- Developing and managing a well-documented quality system, including documentation related to first article reports, deviation requests, test summaries, SPC documents, etc.
- Designing and specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment for assessing production and service limitations and recommending revisions as needed.
- Identifying defects in design or manufacturing processes, present root cause and propose potential solutions.
- Investigative and problem solving skills with high priority on attention to details.
- Sound mathematical and technical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Communicating and resolving quality issues directly with suppliers.
- Creating and executing internal corrective actions and follow up in the execution of supplier corrective actions.
- Microsoft Office, Windows required.
The following attributes are helpful but not required:
- Experience in an AS 9100, ISO 13485 and/or ISO 9000/9001 environment – especially if involved in a company’s implementation and certification processes. Understanding of UL, USCG and FAA quality procedures also beneficial.
- Experience conducting vendor Audits.
- Experience interacting with foreign vendors.
- Familiarity with concepts of Six Sigma.
- CAD experience (esp. SolidWorks).
- Experience with quality aspects applicable to plastics injection molding, casting, machined parts and printed circuit board assemblies.
- Experience contributing to design for reliability excercises.
- Experience in the marine industry.
- Experience maintaining and controlling calibration records and processes.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years’ experience working in a related field.
- Experience working in a very fast-paced, responsive, deadline-oriented environment.

This is a unique opportunity for an exceptional person with 10+ years’ experience in AC power supply circuit design. Project leadership and LED lighting design experience a strong plus.
In this role you will drive innovative products design and execution from concept investigation and design analysis to successful production execution. You are hands-on and have advanced knowledge and experience in design analysis, modeling and simulations, schematic/BOM generation, PCB layout, DFM, prototype developments, tests & validations, qualification, and taking products to production.
Proven abilities in the following:
- AC Power supply safety.
- Understanding EMC/EMI requirements and mitigation technique implementation.
- Power supply PCB layout.
- State of the art techniques for efficiency optimizations including no load/light load efficiency techniques.
- Deep understanding of thermals, mechanical, and packaging challenges.
- Deep understanding of materials’, components’ and design requirements to assure long term reliability of AC circuits.
- UL, CE, CSA Certification Processes.
- Use of Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Highly Proficient in the use of testing and analysis tools such as mixed signal O-scope, signal generators, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, power meters, Hi Pot testers, network analyzers.
- AC Circuit simulation interpretation and application.
- Universal AC Circuits design.
- Design of AC circuits for Noise mitigation.
- Design of AC circuits requiring power factor correction of 0.9 or higher.
- Design of High-efficiency switch-mode power supplies.
- Design of Isolated Power Supplies, control circuits or lighting circuits.
- Design of DC/DC converters and AC-DC rectifier for universal AC input.
- Design of high efficiency AC circuits with power ratings from 50 watts to 200 watts or higher.
Requirements
- Ability to select the best design option for power metric performance optimization including but not limited to efficiency, power density, cost, and scalability.
- Lead Power supply design concept definition in collaboration with cross-functional team.
- Provide design simulation, calculations, and analytical models for prediction of design concept.
- Provide design Schematic, PCB layout and BOM.
- Conduct design and layout reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Adhere to robust design methodologies for successful project execution.
- Perform R&D testing to optimize performance and pass standard, EMC, EMI, ESD compliance tests.
- Develop electrical DFMEA, perform worst case analysis and simulations and develop structured problem solving techniques for test failure resolution.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to guide critical decisions.
- Develop product design requirements based on a product definition.
- Conduct thorough prototypes test and results validation. Hands-on work in lab is a must.
- Develop and implement test methodologies for design verification as well as production testing.
- Produce designs for long term reliability in a marine environment.
- Produce designs which are geared towards 100 to 2000 units per year production quantity.
- 10+ years industry experience and must have a BSEE. Strong background in power electronics.
The following are considered beneficial in this position:

Job Description
Responsible for researching, planning, and designing electro-optical products and systems; Directs and coordinates activities involved in design, fabrication, operation, application, testing, and production; Performs engineering work assisting senior-level engineers on major projects; Applies engineering principles developing, testing and modifying designs.
The Optical Engineer for Illumination design must have experience with modeling and using light emitting diodes (LEDs) in the visible with IR wavelengths being a plus. This engineer should have design experience with non-imaging optics, light pipes, color mixing optics and diffusers as well as collection optics including conventional lenses and TIR lenses. Design experience with light and image projection systems a plus. Designs, executes, and tests to collect statistically significant data to define technical specifications and product requirements. Researches, assesses, and validates technology choices and capabilities that may be leveraged by the applications. Candidate must be able to complete product sub-assemblies within a given project time frame. Supports projects as a hands-on contributor using technical and administrative skills to oversee and complete engineering projects.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in designing, modeling and testing of illumination and projection systems using sequential and non-sequential ray tracing. Familiarity with polarization, scatter, contrast, and light scattering modeling.
- Collaborates through to design validation and verification tests of the system requirements, and carries out these tests to reach written conclusion.
- Use of computer-based data acquisition and processing; A working knowledge of statistics for data characterization and hypothesis testing is required.
- Experience with TracePro optical simulation tool or other similar tools.
- Hands on test experience and familiarity with the optical test equipment including Goniophotometers and Integrating Spheres
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and Master’s degree in related field; plus 3+ years of design experience.
Lumitec is a manufacturer of lighting devices for the marine industry. We are seeking manufacturing / assembly help in our Delray Beach facility. Tasks will include general assembly of light fixtures, soldering, electrical and mechanical testing and inspection, packaging, shipping, inventory counts, etc.
Applicants must have:
- Excellent work references from managers in similar roles
- Experience in an assembly / production environment
- Reliable transportation
- A Social Security card and / or valid employment documentation
- Be drug-free and have a clean criminal record
- Be able to work 8 am sharp to 5 – 6 pm weekdays

- College degree
- Soldering experience
- Electrical test experience
- Computer skills
Typical time required is 40 hours per week, however some weeks may be higher or lower depending on work load. Rapid advancement for top performers. Our work environment is fast paced and results-oriented.

We are eager to round out our already strong operations team with an additional Purchasing Agent. This is a great opportunity for an exceptional person to provide a valuable interface between our organization and suppliers -- both domestic and international. The primary role of this individual is to ensure that the supply needs for Manufacturing are met and also support Engineering with replenishment of materials as required.
The ideal candidate is energetic, thorough, professional, and above all else is RESULTS focused and ACCURATE. He or she has purchasing experience in dynamic and complex manufacturing environments, consumer products and experience purchasing PCBs and electronic components preferred.
Requirements:
• Consistent, exceptional organization, follow-through and attention-to-detail are required.
• Excellent analytical skills -- must be capable of collecting, assimilating and synthesizing planning data and converting it into relevant business information.
• Effective communication skills, both internally and externally at all levels.
• Understanding and experience with MRP, Bill of Material and manufacturing support systems.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers. Expertise in identifying and evaluating new suppliers, both internationally and domestically.
• Analyzing demand, resolving issues, and driving overall improvement of supply chain planning metrics.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels, and seek out various opportunities to reduce inventory.
• Track on-time supplier delivery performance.
• Ability to create and execute purchase orders.
• Working knowledge of MS office suite (Excel, Word).
• 5+ years' experience in similar position.
- Experience purchasing PCBs and electronic components preferred.
- APICS certification a plus.
- Bilingual English/Chinese (Mandarin) a plus.
This position requires that the Purchasing Agent be in all areas of the facility -- office and factory environments where there is some exposure to noise and dust. Required safety equipment must be worn as posted.
